I have been given a full bottle of Butane gas, I use Calor gas on my barbecue and patio heater would it be OK to change them to the Butane gas bottle?
Thanks

Calor is a brand and so far as I know their bottles are variously filled with propane or butane - the fitting is different depending on which gas it the bottle contains. Butane is of lower calorific value than propane so if your appliance operates best on propane then you may notice a difference. At low temperatures propane burns much better than butane, and is easier to light.
Apologies for the spurious "it". I should have mentioned that in the reverse case, where a butane based appliance is hooked up to propane, there might be a need to be careful when lighting up in case too much gas is flowing.
I always understood that the connectors are different. My caravan has separate pipes/connectors depending on whether I use propane (orange cylinder) or butane (blue cylinder)
