Can anyone tell me which way the arrow should go on a pair of QED interconnects, i.e, should they point towards the amp or towards the CD player?

The arrow denotes signal travel so the arrow should point towards the amplifier as the signal goes from cd player to amplifier.
Where you been hiding then...nice to see you,to see you nice...(:)

Are these just stereo phono plugs? If there's no electronics (signal conditioning etc) then it shouldn't matter.

As Jack points out, arrows usually indiciate signal flow, but if it's a straight cable it won't make a difference. It's only on multi-pin connectors (like scart or speakon) where the pin wiring matters.
