There is a lady at work who wants to be made into a diamond when she dies, (and i believe she has written it into her will) three questions on this.

1. How much does it cost to have a body made into a diamond?

2. Would it be an actual diamond or a CZ (cubic zirconia)?

3. Would the size of the person affect the size of the diamond?

What would you do with something like that?

I think it is quite Strange- i wouldn't want to wear one, but my colleague loves the idea. She would give them to all her 5 kids, and the rest to the local cats home.

Bizarre lady.

The Website that rampart quotes, says that at the moment they can only make up to 2 Carats, but will be able to do 3 carats soon. I don't think we are talking crown jewels just yet!
that sounds really dodgy,
why would there be any carbon left in the ashes??
Doesn't the carbon burn?
I wouldn't trust them, the can give any diamond to anyone and pretend it's made from the body's carbon...

Just to clarify - zircon, (a mineral often used in cheap jewellery in place of diamond), is zirconium silicate (ZrSiO4) - containing the element zirconium and has nothing to do with carbon or diamond.

I'm do not know the abundance of zirconium in the human body, but I'm pretty sure it's little more than a trace, and certainly not enough to make even a small crystal of zircon.

According to the website further up the page - they say that it is an actual diamond that is produced not a CZ. I think it is a bit dodgy myself.
