The Original Price Of A 128K Singer Sewing Machine 1919
5 Answers
I have discovered my Grandmothers 128 K Singer sewing machine.
Her mother would have bought it for her when she was 16 years of age.
They could have purchased it in Liverpool at a Singer shop. ( Location not known )
The money came from her half - brother Percy Gardiner Spargo DCM. ( As per Probate )
Who died in a taking off accident in Greece, September 1918. ( RFC / RAF )
How would I find the correct price of purchase at 1919.
Thank you.

An interesting link, Danny, thanks. I've just got a Singer 99K Hand Machine working again. Vintage 1930 according to its serial number and looks exactly like the one shown here:

The hook mechanism was seized up but some penetrating oil got it moving again. I'm amazed at how well it sews, quietly and smoothly - obviously built to last in those days
