I want to get a new phone but keep my sim card, the phone I want is only available on T-mobile will it automatically be locked to that or will it accept other sim cards so long as I don't register it?

why don't you ask T-Mobile?

unlock codes are available online, plus t-mobile can unlock it for you. If you really like the phone but don't want to switch to t-mobile, try buying the phone online. we were told in the store that only certain models were available, then later online I found dozens of phones that could have been used. I just switched to t-mobile after 10 yrs with another company and I am thrilled. Service is the same but I'm paying about one-third of my previous monthly bill. Happy Hunting!

you can normally take the phone to a shop who charge about a tenner to unlock it to accept all networks
