Post Code Query

Not sure which category to post this, but I have recently moved house. My house is an isolated farm house - no neighbours for at least half a mile or more, but I am aware that at least half a dozen other properties in the district have the same post code. I am constantly having post, and parcels in particular, going astray, presumably being delivered to the wrong address. Am I likely to stand any chance of getting a different post code, and if so to whom do I apply?

Unlikely that you can change your postcode but you could double check that you are using exactly the same address as that registered with Royal Mail. All couriers will use their software for deliveries and the Sat nav. Look yourself up here.

My house has a name, but it's name, although on the Royal Mail's Post Code Finder list, is very similar to the other half a dozen or so properties with the same post code. i.e. we all share a variation on a theme of Farm, Cottage, Barns, Grange, etc. To be fair, Royal Mail deliver quite well, it's other delivery couriers that seem to be losing our parcels.

How frustrating, especially at the moment when if like me you are buying more online. If given the option to include delivery instructions I always include a note. Something along the lines of Paradise Farm is at the top of the hill, large conifer, long drive, not to be confused with Paradise Grange or Barn.

Suggestion 1:
Use the form in my link above, selecting 'My propery has a name rather than a number' in the 'What's the problem?' field. Then fill in the 'Tell us more' box roughly along these lines:
"3rd party couriers, using the RM database, repeatedly deliver my parcels to other properties with the same postcode. Is there a way to an an additional identifier to my address?"

Suggestion 2:
When ordering something from a site which invites you to enter your postcode and then lets you select from a list of all properties with that postcode, look for an option to manually enter the address. Then you can type something along the lines of:
"Blackgates Farm
(Pink house at end of drive with green gates)
Trotters Lane
Toytown
TY1 9XZ"
