If I get a new 10 note from the bank today and cash it, what are the chances of me owning that same note again in the notes lifetime?

When I was younger I used to sign all my notes, I never saw any of them again.

Possibly higher than you think.

If you go back to the shop where you spent it and buy something else with a 20 note then the chances are fairly high that you might get it in change - even if it's been through several other customers' hands first.

The chances lessen with time I would think

Perhaps you could start a website similar to this:

I want a "Where's my car?" website so I can find all my previously owned vehicles. I miss some of those.
