A Question About Vaccines

So our dna codes for proteins to be made by transcripting to mrna. I get that.

So mrna then codes for specific protein to be made and its displayed in the next cell and recognised as an antigen and then starts making an immune response.

What happens if for some reason the mrna codes for different proteins and causes a immune response on our own cells? Like als.

Genetic mutations happen so why can changes in mrna happen?

This has gone from putting dead virus parts in to trying to change the bodies ability to read our source code which from a programing perspective is scary

Woodgang, Thankyou very much for those links. I'd previously accessed your first link, but they are very vague -perhaps its my character but I need to know more than 'its safe' before I take anything. The Oxford vacc uses deactivated 'live' virus, but none of the research tests have been done on the immune supressed and I'm not gonna be a guinea pig.
I take Cimzia by injection, their site in the UK gives no information on the suitability of taking the vaccine, neither does the nice SITE. Thanks for looking though, much appreciated.

Aunt i honestly don't think you would be the only guinea pig by taking this you would just be one with more uncertainty. If they can't cure cancer or als then they don't understand a cell like a car for example. The studies they did with mrna were on small groups and the risks of your body attacking itself could be years down the line. I would be less worried to catch the virus at this stage :(

that train has left the station ...I got covid-19 in April -positive test and just about survived but still feeling the after-effects. Had an anti-body test but although there were signs of exposure to covid 19 no active anti-bodies were present.

I would dearly love a chance to talk to a medical person who is not a 'just vaccinate' propounder - there is not much chance of talking to anyone at the moment.

On Dec. 14th OH had first vaccination (many cheers - he's 87 with heart problems). Dec. 24th some pink spots appear on vaccinated arm. By Dec.27th he is not sleeping because of rash all over his body and I'm ignoring it (thinking he's a wimp) until I look at him. It was awful. All over his upper legs were great black/brown blotches. Left buttock they had joined together into a huge area and the skin had crinkled and looked like leather. All over upper body was a chicken-pox-type rash, where you couldn't identify the spots because most areas were just red. This has all been officially reported.

I rushed out and bought hydrocortisone and that calmed the situation until we saw the nurse at the surgery who prescribed betamethasone. This is having an effect on the spots - but he had his 2nd jab on 5th Jan anyway and I am still fighting the results.

He did not know that he was allergic to anything except dressings, such as elastoplast and some others. I am still trying to clear reaction - black blotches have faded to browney-pink and he can sleep because I can now spot the spots (good title for something)and dob them individually.

This sort of thing is not publicised. I cannot get to talk to a GP and I am very worried about taking the Pifzer vaccine - so much so that I have decided to refuse it. Not only do I sometimes have eczema and dermatitis, but I am asthmatic, with a growing number of allergens.

No-one seems to be willing to talk to people like me - there must be thousands - who are genuinely worried about the effect of this vaccine. They are all playing the numbers game.

even if you could talk to a GP jourdain, what would they say. They cant be mystic meg and tell you what will happen 1) if you get the vaccine and 2) if you dont. They can only tell you what happens to the majority, which you already know!

I did read that if you have allergies then you should not take it. Asthma and skin issues is the same as allergies so stay well clear. I have asthma and get fungal skin for some reason which sucks :( luckily a bit of cream and its gone though. They can't tell you how it reacts with most people because the trials were limited.

jourdain, if your husband got post vaccination petechiae, which is what I think you are describing, its a known rare side effect of vaccination, not just covid vaccination. There is information out there but basically it seems to say (I only did a quick search) that its rare, treatable or self limiting, unusual but not usually dangerous.
Here's a statement from the Platelet Disorder Support Association in the USA. If you can talk to a medic and mention thrombocytopenia or petechiae (peteekeyeye, no I am not talking down to you I have to look up the pronounciation) then you may get somewhere with the discussion? The PDSA in the US is not an animal charity!

The Pfizer vaccine. They told the surgery to fill in a yellow form, but when we went they were in a flap and the new, young doctor didn't seem to know what to do. The nurse, quietly, told me to carry on buying the hydrocortisone and prescribed another tube of the betamethasone, because it was already on his prescription as part of the treatment for his leg wound. I was already doing this, but was glad to get some confirmation and also I had very little beta etc. left. I am buying the hydrocortisone myself. Nurse sees him regularly to dress his leg and is our main contact. I hope you can understand why I am worried.

yes i can understand, however, if a doctor is going to give you reassuarance it'll be false reassurance, because how do they know exactly what will happen to you?
all they can do is tell you what happes to a minority of vaccinated pts, and what happens to the minority of covid sufferers
