My home internet now stops working on regular basis, and seems to be getting worse. Talktalk have checked the outside line and say no problems. I check everything inside the house - any ideas what else I can do?

I can go for a few weeks, then the router can cut out several times a day, once for 2 hours. Touch wood it is okay now. BT checked and said my line and broadband seemed fine. I have a very old router and they believed it could be that. As I am out of contract they will not give me a new one. Funny enough the lady next door who is with Virgin has been having problems as well. I would ask them to provide you with a new router which should be free under your contract. Watch it if you call them out, they may we’ll charge you.
My talktalk stopped working a couple of weeks ago. They ran a check & said it was a BT problem even though my landline was working OK.
Openreach came out & re-made some connections of the phone wires (outside) & it's been ok since. I wasn't charged but I was on a previous occasion when they checked the line & found no problem.
Think you may need a new router.

The difficulty identifying intermittent problems is catching the problem when you do the tests, so I have sympathy with engineers trying to locate such a problem.
Are you connecting using wi-fi or a cable directly to your computer? If wi-fi there could be some external interference affecting your connection.
