not seen my neighbour in a couple of months there bin hasn't moved and neither has their car and the grass isn't mowen and usually they keep on top of it bit worried about him but shall I contact the police
youd think friends or family or work would have filed something about them being missing im worried he lives alone and maybe had a fall or something
yes, let the pollice have a look. My neighbour's been away since Covid began, stuck abroad and his house and garden look a mess. At least he let me know.
he used to live with a lady i aint seen her in a while at least half a year she wasnt english I suggested to the plod that maybe she moved back to her home country to be with family during covid and he moved back a few months after i did say there could be a reasonable explanation but the police lady said no you done the right thing she had such a lovely voice also
im hoping they will contact his estate agent or place of work to find out more info they can do stuff i wouldnt know where to start I dont even know his name im just aware of him in the neighbourhood
roadman you have acted in an exemplary and logical way.
Given the information from your postings, you neighbour is either dead or has gone away for whatever reason.
Hence not an emergency.
I have tried smowball there was no reply which is what i expected the police said did you take a sniff through the letter box i said no i did not i dont want to be traumatised and i also did not look to see if they had post that was collecting up which the police said might be an idea but i repeated that i did not want to open the letter box
they said could you see any flies in the window thankfully i couldn't
It may not be an emergency if he's dead, but the man's body surely deserves a dignified removal and burial. Sooner would have been better than "Oh, it's no rush now".
brainiac my neigbourhood isnt very close with eachother well maybe it is and im just not part of it but no i havent spoken to anyone else in the street about it im a bit nervous to knock on doors and ask people im not sure why but it brings a realness to the situation id rather keep to myself and inform the police of my concerns which i did and hopefully they can contact his work and estate agent or whatever to see if they have info i doubt they will just go and break his door down
thanks thecorbyloon i wont lie i was hesitant to call the police some of my friends thought it was not needed but i have read awful things about people dying alone and not being found for a while so i thought look better safe than sorry whats the worst that will happen
it is the car that really makes me think he would have sold it if he was moving country not left it on the drive for someone to deal with and because i moved his bin off the street in front of his car i know for a fact that his bin or car hasnt moved since at least a week before the 2nd of july it is very suspicious
As i mentioned earlier he always enjoyed the garden and we had some good weather recently o windows pen no grass cut no sign of him what so ever
I'm wondering whether you would have heard his dog barking nonstop for a while if he had died but I suppose not all dogs would do that. Sorry that's not much help.
