New Samsung Fridge Freezer Very Noisy - Help Please And Experts!
7 Answers
Just replaced my old Samsung FF with a new modelRB34T602EWW/EU ( the previous ff was the same but earlier model and worked perfectly. My problem is this - it sometimes stays on whining for hours and the only way I can stop it is to open the door of the fridge part for about 4 mins and then close it and it stops! When it is constantly on the sides of both frisge and freeezer are quite hot.
I have set it to correct temps as per book and have tried different ranges - currently I have it same as my last model which is is -15 freezer and +6 fridge and both compartments are just right. I have it in my mind that it is to do with the inverter motor - all my friend For Funks Sake work ok and much quieter and they are only half the price of mine! It is supposed to save energy with this inverter it says but I wish I had bought a normal cheap FF as I would rather use more power and be quiet,
I live in a flat with integral lounge/kitchen so it is annoying. Any ideas as Samsung say this normal. The FF is only 4 months old.
Thanks

Contact Samsung. I had the same problem with a new freezer a few years, an engineer was sent out and a replacement arranged. Fridge freezers should not be noisy - I hear mine gurgle very occasionally for a minute or two

Well it is supposed to be rated at 35dB which gives it a second best (out of 4) quietness rating so it shouldn’t be loud. Have you got it levelled properly as off balance can cause F/Fs to run more than they should. Failing that record the noise with you talking quietly after just the noise and send that to Samsung to show the problem. (Actually, your contract is with whoever you bought it from so you should be talking to them)
Just following up, this comparison chart from Yale reckons a standard fridge is 55dB and yours should be a bit louder than a whisper https:/ /ehs.ya le.edu/ sites/d efault/ files/f iles/de cibel-l evel-ch art.pdf
