Memory Foam Matresses & Heat
3 Answers
i have a memory foam matress - which is basically just a slab of memory foam - not cover or anything, literally just mem foam
i cant put an electric blanket on it, as it defeats the point of having mem foam, and also i put an electric blanket ontop of a mem foam topper - only about an inch thick or sheet of mem foam & the bit where i lie most, the mem foam has flattened, which i assume it down to heat my weight at the same time.
so i dont want to create a permanent dip in it - but its freeeezing & l like to use a hot watrer bottle or a heaing pad etc sometimes.
I have an electric over blanket, to go over the duvet but does anyone know any info about this sort of thing?
like whats the maximum heat?
will it melt it whether im sitting it or not?
will the over blanket start to melt it?
can i put a heat blanket on top of the bottom sheet & then remove it when i get in?
thanks :)

i know you can get lectric blankets that are supposedly ok for electric blankets, but they all cover the mattress.
i have EDS & hyoermobility so have issues sometimes about lying on a firm surface

Based upon its TrustPilot reviews, this retailer of memory foam mattresses is thoroughly reputable. So, hopefully, they should know what they're talking about. As you'll see, their recommended solution to your problem is to place an electric overblanket on top of your duvet: https:/ /www.hy gienesu ppliesd irect.c om/blog /can-yo u-use-a n-elect ric-bla nket-wi th-a-me mory-fo am-matt ress
