Carbon is never a metal in any form, fyi Hydrogen when solid has all the properties of a metal but there you go. Maybe there is a bit of Chromium in a pin, I don't know, just asking.
Carbon is considered a metal by physicists. Any element that is not Hydrogen or Helium is cosidered so. This is due to the lack of these so called elements in the universe. About 1% of all atoms.
