Pete Waterman has the biggest in Europe - he was on the telly last night.
but that is 0 guage - not 00 which is the normal set you can buy from toy shops.
There used to be a model railway exhibition when I was younger. They always had loads of different tracks and displays. When your a kid they are the best.
The National Railway Museum in York has a really good one which i think oneeyedvic is 00 gauge (you pedantic old so and so!)

Sorry Garybaldy - great program though and an amazing track that Pete Waterman has - James May reckoned it cost over 1/2 million!!!

The only reason I was being pedantic is cos he did ask about Hornby trainsets in the question title - and of course there is a difference in size.

...of course! you are right. i actually didnt like waterman's setup - i much prefer 00 and like lots of detail - watermans just looked like tracks in a shed.

yeh i watched it, but i wasnt impressed by pete watermans, just brought back good memories...i would much prefer having a small track with some scenary instead of the table tops he had.....anyone got any pictures or such like

Apparently the largest OO layout (which probably includes some Hornby) is in Exmouth. http://www.exmouth-guide.co.uk/great.htm
