How cold is a refridgerator supposed to be??

We bought a fridge/freezer 6 months ago and it doesn't seem that cold. We put a thermometer in the fridge part last night and this morning it is +4c (it is on 4, out of a scale of 1 to 5). This doesn't seem right to me. It cost �280, which is mid range??

what kind of fridge/freezer? if it has a digital screen and butrtons then you can change the temp. if it's not,well contact the company or read the manual again. that could help.

yes, +4 is right. 0 is freezing point for water, and your fridge isnt meant to freeze (otherwise it'd be a freezer, duh).

The correct temps are: 4c for a fridge and -18c for a frezzer.

The answer is anywhere between 0 and +5 degrees celcius. The colder you have the fridge the more energy it uses to stay at the set temperature. Your freezer should be -18 degrees.

If your thermometer is submersible you might see what it reads in a cup of ice water. Temps can vary in differant areas and depending on whether the fridge has just begun or finished a cooling cycle. Your probably good with what you've done but the maker of the fridge may be able to provide better info.
