I just wanted to say good luck. I am in a similar situation myself and am in court on the 16th. I received some excellent legal advice from a solicitor this morning. He didn't charge me either which was really nice!

He is really hopeful that I won't be disqualified, but if I am, he has suggested I give notice of appeal to the court straight away as we all have a right to have our appeal heard in the Crown Court. He said that I would qualify for Legal Aid for that, so wouldn't have to pay for him to represent me.

There are good people in this world to help us when we, as humans, make mistakes!!!! Keep your chin up, and all the best.

hey mlt 1978, thank you for writing in with the very helpful advice to give notice of appeal for hearing in the crown court in the event of disqualification. i will take this advice.thanks friend. i have not seen any solicitors yet, still waiting for my date in court to be given to me, but a friend of mine told me that apparently all speed cameras need to be checked on a 'daily' ? basis, and if your click was 'before the actual daily check', then that fine becomes void. is this true, dont know, but perhaps worth chkng with your solicitor. good luck.

as i tlk about my predicament with friends and people in good faith, i see so many like us, with immpeccable driving records dented by speed cameras of offences just like ours, mostly in the past two years. so we are not alone, i dont believe we have done anything that dangerous for society, its just the laws have suddenly become very strict and some of us have been caught without the adequate and fair warning,eg, two of my offences were by the same camera, both very early morning, hardly anyone or any traffic about, suddenly appearing overnight on the road i must have travelled on a million times before doing speeds over 40. it is quite riduculous...

anyway, good luck my friend in court and i mean that most sincerely; perhaps let us know how it went.
