I feel abit low like I feel I need to be out more and have no luck with men these dating sites don't do it for me. I just wondered if anyone has been through this or depression?
You are fed up, not depressed. Prudie is correct believe me. I suffer from depression! Forget dating for a while. Theres much more to life than dating or looking for a partner. Have you any hobbies or interests? Get out and about with your friends, keep away from dating sites for a while. Fed up is far removed from depression. We all get fed up.
I don't have experience personally I don't think but certainly grew up with a mother who claimed to be depressed. I'm sure mental ill health takes many forms but people who are clinically depressed do not go out socialising by choice, interest themselves in their clothes or their nail varnish, plan birthday parties and trawl dating apps. Instead of treating abbey like some kind of lame duck who needs Internet cuddles she'd get more benefit from a bit of a reality bite on here.
Abbey is 30 Bednobs. Not a youngster. As i said, i think she has problems, but i do know a lot about depression, not just my depression. Ive done a lot of research over many years. In fact one counsellor i saw told me i would make a good counsellor. I stick to my thoughts that Abbie is fed up and probably lonely if she is genuine.
Having worked in a psychiatric environment and worked with psychiatric nursing tutors, I have to agree with MissT. My advice to Abbey is, if she feels she needs medical advice rather than that from complete strangers, then she should make an appointment to discuss her problem with her GP.
This is the fourth or fifth recent thread from Abbeyleigh about depression. In one of last month's, Abbeyleigh seemed to suggest she'd seen her GP, and added something about counselling, 'but didn't get'. Later threads offered useful, helpful advice... to no avail.
