Hi, I am researching an accident where the body has been found but not the head (in a lake). Please does anyone know what measures may be taken practically to find it? The accident happened in 1967.

My daughter is doing a project on the Lake District and found this disturbing fact. Apparently they found the wreckage many years later and salvaged it, along with his body, but never found his head? I have been to Coniston many times and swam/paddled in there, but definitely would think twice now I know it has a head/helmet in there- probably long gone, but must be so hard for the family to grieve properly knowing only part of him is buried?
