Am I Right To Keep Worrying?

While I took a dog to a coffi shop with me (from dogs home) a man walked past me with his dog and before I could do anything my dog had him by the back. I did an accident form explaining the incident. I've been informed that the owner has rung the home that and is taking his dog to the vet. I had a meeting with the manager as it has been said I broke the rules by taking him to a coffee shop which no one said about and I have seen other walkers in there before which I told them. The dog was a big bulldog which the manager gave out to me first time walking I clarified to her that I had never walked him. I had a meeting with her today and they're not banning me from walking but don't think it a good idea to walk for a few days and to call back in a few days to see what the outcome will be after the owner has been to the vet. It's my birthday and I'm so upset about this. Just been told there is going to be strict rules.

the dogs home shd pay the vets bill

exactly this happened to me - I didnt claim the vets bill altho told I should. The dog had been trained as a fighter and the owner abandoned the dog without telling anyone - taken  in by the dogs home.

The dogs home may also be at fault giving such a big dog to you. Have you walked similar dogs before?

I'd not stress over it Abbey...it's up to the dogs home to deal with it.

Pasta I've walked big dogs but not strong and didn't realise he was like that he only gave dogs a staring competition until one was very close.

I've just gone on dogs home website and one of the dogs profile pic is in a coffee shop and they're saying I shouldn't have been in there.

Abbey, as someone who doesn't like dogs, I know I wouldn't be keen on having you in the coffee shop beside me on your first time out with a big, strong dog! My dog-loving friends have told me that they would want to be more familiar with the animal before venturing into public places.

Btw, I dont know the full story but really don't think your dog home should have given you what seems like a big powerful dog like that to walk when you clearly didn't know the dog.

Abbey, it was your first time with that dog, the 'big strong' dog, wasn't it? I am fine with dogs in public places if their owners, walkers, whatever, know their animals. You hadn't had much experience in handling that bulldog.

It was my 3rd but he was ok last few times apparently they've done what they have incase owner rings and asks what have they done about it.

I've been in a coffee shop loads of times with a dog but no one said it not allowed even lady who does inductions said the boss asked had she told people in inductions

Thanks, Abbey, from what you said in your original post, I thought that  this was the first time you'd taken that dog out  - 'the manager gave out to me first time walking, I clarified that I had never walked him'. And later in the thread, you mention walking 'big dogs but not strong'. If yesterday was your third time out with the big bulldog, you'd surely have had some idea of how strong he was?

It wasn't to do with how strong a dog walked passed out of no where there was no time for me to react as dog was already right next to him had he have safe distanced I could have controlled him. First time I walked him manager gave him out to me and I told her I hasn't walked him before.
