The screen is never very bright even when Brightness is full on.  Looks slightly bluey, not sharp and not very clear.  Is this just the Samsung trait?  Are Apple phone screens much sharper?

Samsung screens are usually pretty good, I've just read the reviews for your model and none criticise the screen brightness or sharpness.

Silly question - have you got a screen protector on it?

Samsung should be fine. I have iPad and I watch TV on it with headphones it is actually better than our £1k TV!
