Hi, I'm hoping for advice please.

I've very recently got new hearing aids with Bluetooth.

It's paired with all my Bluetooth appliances.

I've a new TV..a surprise gift when my old TV stopped working.

The kind person that gifted it didn't know I'd need bluetooth to pair it with my aids.

I've now done some research via Oticon who advise I need a TV adapter 3.0

Looking on Amazon they are available but  quite expensive.  There's many other cheaper tv adapters.

Has anyone experience of this situation to advise me please. Would/ should a cheaper version work?

Thanks for reading.

you dont need advice from us.

This is highly techical ( and planned by all the hearing aid companies who build this sort of thing into the product)

Basically they are looking for 'all change' and not easy add on

I don't see why it shouldn't work if it's Bluetooth.  I have the expensive Phonak one but I would be prepared to buy a cheaper version - after all, it connects fine to a Bluetooth TV.

I recommend you buy a cheaper one from Amazon simply because it will be very easy to return for a refund if you are not satisfied

Have a look at this one, connect it to the right output and it won't mute the TV speakers (you can mute them when you want and adjust the speaker volume as normal with the TV remote when you are watching TV with other people,)

I've just read the reviews on Curry's and they are not good. I'd still give them a go, could be user error

as a neighbour said " you spend thousands on hearing aids and none of them work..."

and since I am hearing ( or lip read very well) I said wearily -  yes

Quick question, were your hearing aids able to connect to your old TV?

As of Monday, this is still for sale. It appears to be a great bargain on a like-new adapter. https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m94678822989

That would be great - but they don't ship to the UK
