my new tv is on the blink.its permanantly on standby and is making a clicking sound as though its tryin to turn on.any easy remedies i can do myself or is it best to take it back to the shop?

Take it back. It sounds like a power overload and is cutting out.

Dont tamper, just take it straight back.


Most electrical equipment will fail in the first few weeks or not for years. tampering with it may void the warrantee.

ok thanks for your replies.i have now phoned the store where i bought it from and they said to bring it back .theyl either get it repaired or replace it.i still have the receipt so it shouldnt be any probs. thanks again.
My tv does this when it has been especially cold overnight.

I switch it on, the standby light flashes and there is a loud clicking noise.

I switch it back off but this continues for a few minutes until it stops. When I switch it back on it works fine.

But it is unnaceptable in a new tv. Demand a replacement, not a repair.
Is it a Sony?
