What happens if you put a lightbulb in a glass of water and then put it in the microwave?

If the microwave is kept on for more than say a minute in a 300w microwave, then stear clear and cover your ears. You'll hear a nasty and disturbing electrical noise, like when a metal container is put in the microwave. The lightbulb may light up if your lucky but this depends on the bulb and also the amount of water. It helps to have some kind of technical knowledge otherwibecause the microwave may break.
I wouldnt give it a go but its worth a look!
Used to sell m/wave ovens and would do this to customers amazement (bless, these new ideas eh?) - 2 easy demonstations of the distribution of the microwaves - place a row of christmas tree bulbs in some polystyrene and turn on. Where the waves are being directed inside the oven will light the little bulbs. Very pretty that one..
Or, place a short fluorescent striplight over half a cup of water. Place in the oven, turn on and the strip light lights up without any wiring etc etc. Make sure the strip will not touch the sides of the oven or it will spark and you will hhave a firs...
Only do this for a few seconds to impress your friends by the way as m/wave ovens must not be used empty or with metal items that cause shorting and fires......I take no responsibility for you trying the above without a valid house insurance etc etc.
