My father died recently and he has a bank account which is over the threshold to allow the bank to just close the account. We have to get a form for the J P to stamp. Can we do this without involving a solicitor. and if so where do we get the form from. This is under Scottish law
I can't help with your question- sorry, but can I just ask......
Am I right in thinking that when you say "bank account over the threshold to allow the bank to just close the account" means that if it's under X amount, the bank closes the account and keeps it?
no the threshold if under x amount means the account could be closed and the money handed over straight away but over x amount it has to go to court to be stamped by a JP. Thanks anyway
