I Am Supposed To To What I Am Told

Hi
Getting married in July and we want to do something different with our wedding list. We've been living together for some time and have the house setup as we want. We're going to ask people for contributions to things we want but can't afford on our own (big old sofa and chairs, and perhaps a new telly as well)
Thing is, we can't find a way of doing this. Obviously, we could give out our bank account number for people to pay money into, but we'd prefer to give the people the option of paying with a credit card as well.
Paypal seemed to be the obvious plan but the drawback with them is that while we'd set up an account with PayPal for people to send money to, they have to open a PayPal account as well before they can send money to anywhere/anyone.
Annoying!
Does anyone know of a website that would allow people to send money to us without having to setup accounts and so on? It's quite a lot to ask for people to do.
We thought about registering with a big wedding list service that might have sofas or tvs (ie John Lewis) but we don't want to be tied down to one shop.
We also don't want to go with the online wedding list services that allow for just this, since we read about 3 such companies that went under last year, and the unlucky people who were with each of them at the time lost all the money they'd been sent, and didn't get any presents! Not risking that!
Any other bright ideas?
Many thanks.

If you used someone like john lewis who sell absolutely everything then at least you'd have all the gifts in a useable store. JL also have store cards which you can top money up onto, you set up the card and then allow people to pay money online into it?
Alturn. why don't you set up an internet banking acount. People could then transfer funds.
Good luck and congrats BTW.
