hi, it sounds like the brushes on your motor need replacing, this is a very easy and cheap job to do,hope this helps, all the best john.

sorry john this is going to sound daft .what bushes on what motor . cheers
hi, if you remove the inspection panel at the rear of your machine you will see a silver coulered motor which will have a large black belt which in turn is routed around a large wheel (this turns the drum) if you now look at the motor you may see two black holders one either side of the motor close to where the belt is, these holders have carbon brushes, which sound as though they need replacing, if you do have a look please turn your machine off and remove plug from socket before removing the panel, i hope this is of some help to you, all the best john.

er....before you get the cheque book out first do a couple of simple checks.

1) Is the drainage blocked? Sometimes lint and other bits build up over time and prevent the water escaping - check the u-bend where it connects to you pipes. If there is too much water (you should be able to tell by looking in the window)in the the drum then it will unbalance the spin and then go onto point 2.

2) Is the load balanced? If the load is unbalanced it will shake the machine about and potentially cause damage, rip the pipes from the walls etc etc. The manufacturers have a built in balance detection that will stop the motor spinning. Try rearranging the load or removing items and trying again.

Hopefully this will work and save you replacing the motor brushes haha
