I have a 2 year old Ariston combi boiler. During the last winter it seemed to cut out whenever the weather was cold overnight (it is installed in an unheated outhouse). On reset all is OK until the next cold night. I've changes the air pressure switch(suggested by Ariston) to no effect. The 'experts' seems not to have a clue. Anyone out there got any useful suggestions. Bromley/South London area.

We had something similar that when there was strong winds the boiler would occasionally not light. It proggressively got worse to the point that I called my neighbour over who is an ex plumber. He took the casing off the boiler and noticed that the insulation on electrical supply to the ignitor was worn away where the vibration from the casing had been rubbing against it. After wrapping some electrical tape it was fine and has not been a problem since. The windy weather seemed to be a red herring. Is it the fact that it could be happening all the time but you only notice on cold days/nights where you feel the cold more?
