i have a very, very old antique hand cranked ice cream maker and it still works perfectly. however, the handle is very rusted. how can i clean it without damaging it?
thanks
naval jelly works great. you brush it on let it soak and take it off. you may have to wire brush off the really bad spots before using the jelly and sand it a little bit after using the jelly to polish it up a little.
Easiest way is to use a paint called Hammerite from B & Q paints directly on rust. It is fairly expensive so get a small tin. The brush can not be cleaned cheaply either so use a cheap one.
