When the digits on the scoreboards on the main courts change, that's it, they just change from one digit to another. When the digits in the nearby clocks (time or game time) change, they seem to shimmer between the current number and the next number for a fraction of a second then settle. Does anybody know why? I'm also hoping somebody else has noticed this and it's not just me having overdosed on strawberries.

They are flip down style. The top half of the number / letter falls or flips down to reveal the next letter.

Thank you Colin. I suspected something along the lines of your answer but it was good to get it confirmed. I have to ask though.....what lead you to my question? It was almost 6 months ago! I know I trawl a few pages back on some topics on quiet night shifts but......Cheers, Andy
