Wine Glasses Attracting

I asked this question in B&S but no one seems to know so I wonder... last night when carrying a couple of glasses of wine I swear it felt like there was a magnetic attraction drawing them together. I thought it might just be me but some of the guys checked it to and I just wondered why this might happen?

Cheers

I think that's the effect of the wine rather than the glasses ;-)

Lol No honestly, it really happened... I had sober witnesses!
The magnetic attraction in wine usually only draws the glass to your lips ... you must have has opposing poles in there somewhere
the principals of what you are saying is actually true, all objects have an attraction(similar to magnetism) to each other, it's how gravity works, (though obviously the attractions between the sun and the earth are on a much larger scale)
And it's only on these scales that you are likely to notice anything.
I think it could well have been the top-heaviness of the galsses that gave the effect you are describing, get two, and hold them by the very top, and i'm sure that you will feel no attraction.
Wine glasses, especially once filled, fall under a spell of anticipation that can only be broken by saying the magic word, "Cheers!"

Thank you very much Charlie!

And thank you to all others who participated, I feel enlightened now. xx
If the glasses had stems and you held the bottom you may have foudn that the centre of gravity shifted a little due to a small tilt making it feel like and attraction. Actually they were trying to tip up
