gas pilot light
4 Answers
does anyone know how much in money terms it costs to have a gas pilot light continuously on. I have just done a quick calculation for my daughter, whose gas bill seems rather high. She's turned everything off, ie cooker, heating, hot water etc, all except for the pilot light on her back boiler, for 2 days, and her meter is still totting up at around 1 unit per day. By my calculation 1 unit works out at around 90p..so for 90 days(quarter billing) that comes to 80 quid!!...somebody please tell me I'm wrong!

When your daughter has the next annual service / inspection, ask the engineer for his opinion re - the gas rate of the pilot.
Hope this helps.
