just bought a whetstone to sharpen up my knives seemed to have made them worse what am i doing wrong, have gone really blunt, is there a certain way you must use it? any ideas please

It seems logical to lay the blade almost flat and rub away from the edge,but,in fact, you should rub into the edge ,as if cutting. This NOT a good description, I hope you understand me.
Get the angle right too. I have a feeling it should be about 13 degrees.

Hi Bernie,

Invest in a "Chantry" knife sharpener. You will obviously have to start from scratch but your knives will be like new.

They have different models and are vary in price from �12 - �30. By buying a good one it will last a lifetime.
