I think your getting confused between infinate and parallel universes....that would amount to an infinate number of daft questions all round then.

Fraser-even in an infinite universe you can make no statement about the number of you's available as we do not know the loading factor for developing you. It may be one per universe. What you are describing comes close to the Everett-Wheeler-Graham interpretation of quantum thory though, so there may be a near infinite number of very similar yous, all with too much time on their hands. As to the star thing...even if there were an infinite number of stars (and why should there be? they have a finite life cycle after all) there would be an infinite amount of space to put it in, so it would still be dark at night.

I find the idea of an infinite amount of matter impossilbe to even imagine. Let alone the possibility that it all fitted into a finite amount of space at one point (the "Big Bang"). The whole thing gives me a headache, in fact, but if there were to be an infinite number of stars, then the light from them would have to cross vast distances and almost always be absorbed, deflected or reflected by various planets, stars and dust particles before reaching Earth, hence you wouldn't be blinded by the light from them. It's difficult even to look into the sky at night and point out the centre of the galaxy, despite the fact that the density of stars there is many, many times greater than at the edges.
