Swimming and why the pool water does not go in my head?!

Ok maybe i am being blond, but i have never been much of a biologist so here we go. Why is it when i swim and especially when i go underwater that, the water does not get through to my brain?!

maybe because your brains in you big toe and thats water proof.

ok im sure there is some sort of valve in the ear which means water cant get past a certian point. I should have know i would get silly answers, but was hoping for a biological explanation?!

hey thats cool. thanks very much. i understand how it works now and that the brain is encased, with the ear canal ending at a point.

I should have studied biology more at a young age!
