happy_face, In my opinion, it is a fact that there is a difference between expressing facts or opinions and personal insults aimed at attacking another person for exercising their right to express their opinions or facts. Such attacks should not be tolerated, especially when they are not supported by any facts, in my opinion.
Freedom of speech, like any freedom we enjoy, implies responsibility. In the process of exercising our right to express our opinion we must also respect and defend the rights of others to express their opinion, whether or not we agree with that opinion. Freedom is not free; it comes at a price and if we are not willing or neglect to pay the price it demands all of our freedoms are in jeopardy.
I hope I have helped you to appreciate the difference between exercising ones freedom and attacking anothers but if not, thanks for asking anyway so that I can make the importance of this clear to those who can and do.
