Surely a diffuser is one of those attachment thingies that "spreads" the warm air from the hairdryer over a larger area so as not to concentrate the hot air in one place.

A diffuser is used by people with curly / wavy hair. It stops curls from frizzing into one big frizzy mess and instead defines curls. You don't have to use products, but mousse and serum enhance the finished result.

Yes, and it doesn't actually make straight hair curly, more likely just give it a messy wave
