film approval oppressive censored regimes
1 Answers
the bbc , cnn , various media companies film news reports in oppressive censored regimes china , n korea etc, today the bbc had a feature on the high number of questionable executions in china(there was no claim that it was secretly filmed) , now , given the secracy and sensitivity of these countries to negative press do the bbc /cnn etc have to show the chinese authorities the film for prior approval? (i also assume they require a filming permit would the bbc tell them it was for such a negative report ?)

Some regimes aren't necessarily reticent about what they do; maybe they see it as good for its deterrent effect on the locals.
Other stuff may be filmed by locals with a video camera, then sold.
