posting a camera abroad

I would like to post a boxed camera to a country in South America. Can anyone give me the options? It would have to be insured. What is the cheapest and safest way of sending? Are there alternatives to Royal Mail? Thanks

A courier service would be your best bet. From experience, it may be 'lost in the post' if you use the ordinary postal services !

I doubt I will be using courier-they are a complete ripoff!!!
