Yes you have to . And by law only a qualifed person can install or work on unvented mains hot water appliances. Very dangerous if set up is wrong. Or not allowed for enough expansion, when sizing up the expansion vessel. And allowing for back flow prevention.
What made you consider fitting a pressure unit, is mains insufficient for your need ?
