There is a circuit in the alarm kown as Tamper - basically consists of electricity going through a a wire going to an item wether it be a PIR or even the alarm box itself and then back to the main alarm box.
If anything should break that circuit it will show up as a Tamper.
Each PIR etc. has a tamper switch built in to them so that if anyone opens them wether the alarm is set or not.
It is also possible that it is just an intermittent break in the cable supplying the item - hence the circuit is broken and the current doesn't flow back to the main box.
You should be able to trace this fault with the use of a multi-meter - you will need to access the inside of the main control panel and check the Tamper circuit is at fault.
When opening the main panel it also has a tamper switch fitted so the alarm will activate when it is opened.
The Tamper circuit is low voltage although there is a mains supply to the maoin box itself.
A few typing mistakes above -

Each PIR etc. has a tamper circuit buiolt into them so that if anyone opens them wether the alarm is set or not, the alarm will sound.

- you will need to access the inside of the main control
( the one which has all the alarm cables running back to it and not just the separate keypad if fitted) and check which tamper circuit is at fault.

Thank's a lot Woodchopper you have been a big help.
Should add - each PIR should have about six wires going to it - the terminals inside the PIR are marked like or similar to this -
1. Positive
2.Negative
3.NC
4.NO
5. T
6. T

5 & 6 are the Tamper circuit and these are the ones that need checking.
I repeat my comment to you before - if its got wireless PIRs and the batteries are close to being 12 months old in the PIRs, its probably that which is causing the a alarm to sound. Used to happen to mine just the same - says its been tampered with when it hasn't.
