Hi, Posting this here as well as Home section - this section seems more popular.

Am thinking of installing a wood pellet burner for heating my home - any pros or cons? I'm thinking from the maintenance side. Thanks

Just bought my first this fall ( second hand) and finally got it hooked up last week. So far so good. It produces more heat than you might expect from watching it burn. A week of moderate burning hasn't produced enough ash to attempt a cleaning as yet. The biggest problem for you to worry about is availability and cost of the pellets. Check for prices and do the cost comparison with your present fuel. Good luck!!!
