When re-Writing to a Re writeable DVD can you add to something that is already on the disc or does it wipe the disc to put on the new media?

Thanks in advance

My DVD+RW adds to what is already there.

I don't know if DVD-RW is the same
Depends how much space is left on the disc and what you are using to write to the disc - it should tell you if you can fit more on.
My DVD-RW adds to what is already there too. It starts a new index box thing.
I use RW's all the time. What you have recorded already stays there until you go to a different part of the process into the erasure programme, all from your remote control. So if put in a partly recorded DVD the next recording will follow on after it.
