how do i pop the button out of a dc04 hoover to repair the wire i have contacted dyson and without letting me know exactly how to do it they just said it was easy but they could not actually tell me, but the answer is out there if you try to find it so he said, so can anyone help, please

The button for the on/off switch is secured by a lug. There is a tiny tiny hole which allows you to push it away from it's retainer (towards the centre of the switch) and then you can withdraw the button upwards

Once the button has been removed removed, the switch and switchholder is secured in place by a 15T star headed fastener - unscrew this if you can and the whole assembley slides out the top
