Hi

Thought i'd ask this in here because i can't think where slse to ask.

Is it possible to shrink a 100% cotton jumper. Me being a typical male i never usually try things on when i buy them, and i have this blue cotton jumper in size XL but it is quite baggy. I cant take it back as i've had it a while and never worn it. Is it possible to shrink it slighly, and if so how do I do it?

Any suggestions and tips greatfully received

My wife only ever asked me to deal with the washing once. I looked at the machine, and knew that that little dial/knob thingy rotates as it goes through the cycle, so I just twisted it as far as it would go, and pressed the start button. All the clothes came out in sizes suitable for dolls, so I would say "Yes". The problem is getting things to shrink by exactly the right amount.

You could always try the Levi Jeans trick of wearing it in a hot bath!
Ha! See that trick only works when you dont want things to shrink - like brand new Cashmere jumpers or one half of a set.

In my experience 100% cotton grows rather than shrinks.

Why not try taking it back since its never been worn? Its always worth a try.Or Ebay it. Or donate it to a Charity shop
Tell them all that baggy is 'in' now.
You can shrink a cotton jumper by putting it in a tumble drier on the highest setting..put it in straight from the washing machine..you wont even have to iron it..
