As far as I know sparkle think you will probbably loose your income support if your partners working or at least some of it but just dont tell this kranky goverment that he has moved in they like to throw money away at refugees so just stick 2 fingies up at them.

Sorry just read my reply and think that I worded it wrong when I said that this kranky goverment likes to throw money away at refugees it might have sounded like I meant you was a refugee but that was not meant to sound like that (well I know what I am talking about anyway even if nobody else does)..
lol, its ok, i didnt think that! i no il have to come off income support but i get help with the rent on the place im renting. The rent is 925 per month and theres no way we could afford the full rent. i get 600 towards the rent and do not have to pay the council tax. i really dont know what to do, he doesnt want to duck and dive.
oi duck and dive i dont know the meaning of that ( even though my dads name was dell boy) our place is 2 bed house and comes complete with the 5 year old golded retriovber (whoops sorry about spelling again) and we pay 725 squids a month and geting peed of with it so can you tell us how to win the lottery
you have to tell the housing benefit that someone else is moving in. They will assess his/her income, and make a decision on whether they will contribute - they might just make them pay towards it. If you dont inform the benefits agency they stay there, you will be comitting benefits fraud and could be facing a prison sentance and fine if caught (neighbours, friends etc could report you) You have to inform them even if someone is just staying on a regular basis (this could mean one night a week even)
depending on how much your partner earns you can claim tax credits and/or child tax credits which may help pay the rent. If your partner is unemployed then you should still get help with your housing benefit. i think there is also help available through housing benefit for a short period when you come off benefit but i'm not sure of the eligibility criteria - you may only be able to claim it if you start work but not sure (i think it's called housing benefit run on).
