distilled or not

My tumble dryer produces copious amounts of water that collects in tank underneath...can this water be classed as distilled..or does it originally have to come from boiled water...

Yes, it's distilled. The problem is that it may not be pure distilled water, but will almost certainly contain microscopic particles from the clothing.

Don't attempt to use it in the car.

Stick to petrol.

I am totally confused. Maybe it's because I'm from the US. Our clothe driers don't accumulate water anywhere if they are working properly. In fact it would probably be grounds for a lawsuit if they did. Obviously yours are different from ours and I would appreciate anyone telling me what that might be. Maybe it"s a language barrier thing. I"ve been told we have most things in common other than language.

Basically there are 2 ways to get rid of the water vapour from a tumble drier, either duct it out through the outside wall into the air, or condense it into a tank which you can empty, the latter is easier to install as you don't need an outside wall, other than that you just blow it into the kitchen or washroom and cover everything with condensation. Don't know what sort you use in the US

I would say not. There are bound to be impurities from the clothes. I used to think that the water collected from our dehumidifier was distilled, but that is not either.

Proper distillation only occurs when water is evaporated by heat, then cooled and collected in sterile containers.
