white smoke diesel
4 Answers
i went through a flood in my 306 turbo diesel and now it smokes when on tickover. when driving along it is fine. The engine did lock but after i drained the oil and took the glowpugs and got as much of the water out of the engine as i could. i have changed the injectors but that has made no difference. i have been told i may have bent a valve if so would the car still drive ok? what else could make it smoke on tick over? please help!

IF IT AIN'T BROKE , DON'T FIX IT.
If the car operates well , drives well , doesn't use significently more fuel , why would you want to spend large ammounts of cash to fix a problem you may not even have.
If something is seriously wrong, it will show itself to you in no uncertain terms. Wait for it.

as edlee say don't do anything. except take the air filter out and if it's wet, pop it in the airing cupboard overnight.
did you go so deep that there could be water in the fuel?otherwise wait for it to go bang.diesels are strong engines and if it runs ok when revving it's not bent a valve 'cos you'de lose power.
