Hello all. I sound really thick asking this but; My Driving License is falling to bits cos it's so old. How do I go about getting a new one and how much does it cost? *Counts money* ;o)

But this is what they say "In order to exchange your paper driving licence for a photocard driving licence you must complete application form D1 (available from most post offices,and enclose your current driving licence together with the appropriate fee [18 shiney new pounds - which seems like quite a lot really]). You must also enclose original documentation confirming your identity and a passport-type size colour photograph taken against a plain light background. Send your completed application and fee to DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1BU or you may be able to use the Post Office Checking Service."
You could give a relatives address and then when you get your new one, change back, and update to a photo driving license( they send you a form with your new license to send them a piccy). Then you get a picture license for free.
( know a couple of people who have done this. And no, one of them isnt me!!
