I recently purchased a CD and want to do a copy for a friend. I have copied the disc onto Windows Media player, but when I try to copy it it says. CANNOT BURN FILES TO CD VERIFY THE DISC IS NOT DAMAGED, IF NECESSARY SELECT A SLOWER RECORDING SPEED OR TRY A DIFFRENT BRAND OF DISC. The discs I have are maxwell CD-R music XL-1180. Can anyone help. Thanks.

Hi Linda, I've never had any problem with media player, what version are you using? Also how many times has this happened?

Revererandfunk. I'm not really sure what version it is. It just says Windows media player. CD writing wizard. I've never done this before but my son has tried and is getting the same results as me. Thanks for helping.
go to 'My Computer', and find the icon for your burner. Right click on it, and go to 'Recording'. You'll find a drop down box that will allow you choose the speed. Reduce it to about 8 or 12 and you should be ok.
