does the software have to be loaded onto the computer you're trying to charge mp3 from or will any USB port do? I'm not sure if my new Zen V is charging on works comp.

My Zen Vision:M will charge on any computer. I have loaded the software onto my desktop only but usually charge it through the laptop.

Don't you have a charging icon on the screen?

Some do some don't, My iPod for example charges fine at work but my Sony Erricson doesn't. I think the device needs drivers installed, otherwise windows doesn't recognise the device and therefore the USB slot is left invalid and does not charge.

HI Ethel
There's no charging logo on either the screen of MP3 or my comp screen. Have just checked and def. not charging as when I turned it on it turned itself straight back off again. Oh well... No music for me tonight then!
